In a very special jugalbandi, the Bansuri flute weaves effortlessly with one of the rarest instruments in Indian music, the mandolin.
Through sheer passion, dedication and creativity, Bansuri flautist Pravin Godkhindi has taken the musical world by storm, winning numerous awards and high acclaim around the world. Pravin’s talent lies in his incredible control over rhythm, and in his creative musical style. By fusing influences from Western, Jazz and Carnatic (south Indian classical) music, he has developed a sound for the Bamboo flute that is captivating and soulful.
The Mandolin will be played to perfection by one of the most impressive musicians in the world, U. Rajesh. One of the most sought after classical artistes currently in India, having played with nearly all of the country’s top musical stars and recorded dozens of albums, U. Rajesh has also collaborated with John McLaughlin on the Grammy nominated album Floating Point. His 2006 performance in New York was voted among the best concerts of the year by the New Yorker magazine.
Pravin and U. Rajesh are joined by master percussionists Kousic Sen (on tabla) and RN Prakash (on mridangam), known across the globe for raising concert experiences to new heights with their rhythmic delights.
