ENEA: Flamenco Direct from Andalucia

Friday, 15 October 2021 Time: 7.30pm

Dance for dance. Life for life.

The more my wings beat, the more I need life for dancing, and my dance for living, in that way I would feel security and peace, I would break all your chains, even mine, and then, all of this would make sense.

The only thing I need is the voice of the earth and the musical notes of the moon, in that way my universe would be almost complete, because I’m missing you… and now you are already here and now reading my soul. Welcome back to my life, because my life is my dance next to you.

An evening of pure flamenco with national prize-winning young artists from Spain. Dancer and artistic director Julio Ruiz presents this flamenco dance recital, rooted in tradition but expressed by a new generation.  This show brings energy and passion, great depth of feeling, musicianship and elegance, with a touch of humour.

Julio brings two other outstanding young musicians - singer Cristo Heredia and guitarist David Caro. Already respected performers and teachers in their own right, they have grown up together in the flamenco community in Almeria. Now mostly based in Madrid, Almeria and Sevilla respectively, they perform together regularly between tours and other engagements.

Espíritu Flamenco are proud to sponsor and host this visit by Julio Ruiz, which is part of a wider programme of flamenco shows and workshops over the weekend, in Manchester and Liverpool. espirituflamenco.com

Guests are respectfully requested to wear face masks when inside the theatre unless exempt.
