Since June 2012 I have worked as a management consultant focused on helping clients position themselves for the future based on their strengths and anticipated business environment. My clients include organisations inside and outside the US Government undergoing changes in mission or wishing to pursue new market opportunities. Through a structured approach, I help organizations develop strategies; establish near-term objectives; and install the necessary governance to align work, budgets, and personnel management to meet those objectives. I also sit on the Board of Advisors of the Open Source Software Institute and one US-based private sector company.
Prior to my consulting work, I enjoyed a 33-year career in the US Intelligence Community. As a senior executive, I accrued extensive experience managing multinational operations while establishing a track record of delivering groundbreaking information technology. I led several major change efforts in the IT and Open Source business areas, and as the first director of the US Intelligence Community’s Open Source Center (2005-2012) increased the breadth and impact of Open Source Intelligence while building a network connecting US Government, commercial sector, academic, and foreign partners.
