Graduation 2017

Summer Graduation 2017 will be held between Tuesday 18th and Thursday 20th July 2017.

The PGCE ceremonies will be held on Friday 14th July 2017.

A task will be sent to all graduands at the end of April where you can confirm your attendance and find out other details of the day.

What day will I be graduating?

Please download the Summer Graduation 2017: Split of Days document to find out what day you will be graduating.

What do I do now?

Confirm your attendance

A message will been sent to your ‘in-tray’ in the SRM system asking you to confirm your attendance at the ceremony.

If you do not confirm your attendance, we will assume that you do not wish to attend the ceremony in person and your award will be conferred in your absence.

Please ensure that you complete the task, even if you will not be attending the ceremony, so that we can check our records and can post your certificate to you.

Order your cap and gown

You must order your cap and gown from Ede and Ravenscroft no later than Friday 9th June. You can do this online at www.gownhire.co.uk. You should be aware that you will be asked to remove your Cap and Hood when you arrive at the Cathedral as you will be formally “Hooded” when you cross the Platform to be conferred to your degree.

Book your Graduation photographs

Ede and Ravenscroft offers a professional portrait service for both individuals and groups. They will attend the Graduation day events and will set up a studio in The Conference Centre, Hope Park, from 8.30am to 7pm.

To avoid queuing you can book photography in advance at www.edeandravenscroft.co.uk

Book your Graduation Lunch

If you would like to book tickets for you and your guests for the Graduation lunch at Hope Park you must book them through Liverpool Hope’s Online Store. The facility to book lunches will be available shortly.

On making a successful booking you will be issued with an e-ticket, please print this and bring it with you on the day of your Graduation. (It will not be possible to purchase tickets for this event on the day so book early to avoid disappointment.)

Not sure if you can attend?

Under University rules, candidates are required to attend in person to be admitted to their degrees, but sympathetic consideration will be given to an application for admission in absentia.

If you do not know whether you will be able to attend the Graduation ceremony, you should complete the online booking form on the assumption that you will be present to receive your degree in person. If you subsequently wish to be admitted in absentia, or defer your ceremony to a later date, you must email the Graduation Team at graduation@hope.ac.uk.

You should assume that applications for admission in absentia have been approved unless you hear to the contrary. After the ceremonies, the degree certificate and a copy of the appropriate degree programme will be posted to you by registered mail.

Students who initially apply to be admitted to their degrees in absentia and who subsequently change their mind and wish to attend the ceremonies to be admitted to their degree in person, should be aware that whilst every effort will be made to allow them to graduate in person, it may not always be possible to do so.

Student Debtors

Students who owe more than £200 of academic debt to Liverpool Hope University will not be allowed to graduate, either in person or in absentia, until the debt has been paid (this includes library fines and outstanding book loans).

If you find yourself in this position, at the earliest possible opportunity, please contact:

  • a member of the Finance Team on 0151 291 3339
  • for library fines a member of the Library Team on 0151 291 2000
