The nine scholarships will be:

• Four vocal scholarship for soprano, alto (male or female), tenor and bass
• Four string scholarships for two violins, viola and cello
• One joint organ scholarship (together with Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral).

‌The scholarships cover the cost of accommodation and performance tuition but not course fees For the string scholarships, students will be tutored members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Male vocal scholars will have opportunities to perform with the Metropolitan Cathedral choir. Meanwhile the organ scholarship offers a student the chance to be tutored by the Organist and Director of Music at the Metropolitan Cathedral.

The scholarship holders will also participate actively in the musical life of Liverpool Hope through our various choirs and orchestras which regularly perform at official University events and in the community.

Dr Laura Hamer, Head of Music at Liverpool Hope, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for nine very talented musicians to be given access to some of the best tuition available. In addition to this, our students will have wonderful opportunities to perform at the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral as well as to play a crucial role in our packed calendar of performances at the University.”
