The UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) is a comprehensive set of professional standards and guidelines for HE providers and leaders. A nationally-recognised framework for benchmarking success within HE teaching and learning support, it can be applied to personal development programmes at individual or institutional level to improve quality and recognise excellence.
The UKPSF aims to facilitate institutions such as Liverpool Hope University to get recognition for quality-enhanced approaches to teaching and supporting learning. Hope staff will be supported in their continual engagement with this framework, which promotes dynamic approaches to learning and teaching through creativity and innovation and provides a foundational set of professional standards that we have synthesised with our own Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy. The UKPSF outlines the Dimensions of Professional Practice with Higher Education learning and teaching as the areas of activity (A1 – A5) undertaken by practitioners as they aim to support student learning, the core knowledge (K1 – K6) needed to carry out these activities at an appropriate level and the professional standards (V1 – V4) that should be exemplified by Hope staff as they carry out this work.
The PG Cert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education provides practitioners with the opportunity to fully demonstrate their engagement with all aspects of the UK Professional Standards Framework.
